Dare Keeper (the bot) gives Discord users dares. It collects only what is strictly necessary to run the game and keep users safe.

What it collects

• To Run the Game: Your Discord ID, name, points, badges, and game history (which dares given/passed) to maintain leaderboards and game state. Additionally, server roles are collected when custom dares require a role.
• Responses: Text or media links you send as dare responses. I keep my copy for 7 days for safety monitoring, then it is automatically and permanently deleted. The bot doesn't copy files, and Discord's links expire on their own. Your DM history stays with Discord under its own rules, and you can delete your own messages there any time.
• Settings: Your nomination preferences and mute settings.
• Age Verification: The bot detects if commands are used in age-restricted channels to enable adult content. It does not collect ID or verify age personally.
• Anonymous Analytics: Aggregated usage statistics (e.g., "Dare skipped 500 times") with no user data attached.

The bot doesn't read your messages in servers. It only sees what you DM it and the commands you run.

Who sees it

• Public: Your name and points on the leaderboard (unless hidden by server staff).
• Your server staff: They cannot see your dare responses. They see only what any member sees, and they can change the bot's settings for their server, like which dares are in play (see the terms).
• You: You control all sharing. The bot never posts your response content to servers. You may choose to announce completion through the bot, but the content remains private.
• Me (The Developer): I am the only person who can technically access response content, and only for safety monitoring and abuse prevention. This access exists solely to catch illegal content or severe abuse as required by law and Discord's rules.
• Cloud host: The bot runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure servers and is subject to their policy. This may include situational server access, where all collected data exists.
• No one else: Your data is never shared, sold or used for advertising.

Data Retention

Responses: The bot's copy is automatically erased 7 days after you send it.

Game History: Points and badges are kept indefinitely to maintain the game, but without the response content.

Deletion: Want everything gone? Email darekeeper@proton.me with your Discord username. I'll confirm it's you by DM, then delete your points, badges, and history.

Your Control

Type pass to skip any dare, turn nominations off in /dare more, or ask for deletion.

This website

This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other sites. The demo on the home page runs in your browser, and what you type there is never sent anywhere. Like any website, the host may keep ordinary server logs, such as IP addresses.

Age

You must meet Discord's minimum age. Adult dares only come from age-restricted channels, in servers that turn them on.
